Here is the September 2008 report on our work on the Mosquito.

1. Work has continued on the radiator support structure overhaul and installation. We have trimmed the wooden framework on the R/H fuselage end rib to allow permanent fitting of the plywood panel. We have glued the various members and packing blocks to the plywood panel.

2. We have begun to rebuild the wing radiator structure end ribs (engine end) using the remains of the damaged originals as patterns. Using the partial rebuilt end ribs, and the original structure along with the leading edge nose fairings and some loan items we have been able to mock up the R/H wing radiator support structure to determine the location of the radiator tray attachment brackets at the outboard and inboard end ribs. With this section positioned we have been able to determine the anchor nut locations for the top leading edge nose fairing. We have also been able to determine the position of the R/H heater shutter box and attach bracket.

3. We have primed and painted the L/H engine mount frames, the oil and water separator and the vent collector box along with numerous attachment fittings off the mount. We have also stripped cleaned and inspected the coolant header tank. We have painted the landing lights.

4. We have almost completed the flap rigging. The outboard flap sections have been trimmed and had the fabric work finalised and the dope applied through to silver. We have removed good bearings from spare aileron hinges to use in the flap hinges, re-greased them and painted the mount and hinge assemblies silver enamel.

5. Trial fit tailwheel assembly and fit shims to obtain correct alignment.
