Here is the October 2009 report on our work on the Mosquito.
Work has continued this month inside the fuselage with the installation of the ground power receptacle amongst other things. We have installed the typical NATO style socket where the original British unit was mounted. Also in this area are a number of vent pipes and these have been fabricated and the mounting blocks built to support them.
We have begun the overhaul of the radiator mount structure for the Port side with the dismantling of the rib and outlet structure and the cleaning and inspection of the individual components in preparation for painting.
Work is continuing nicely on the nacelles and we completed the rear section of the right hand unit now. The upper rear skins are still to make but we are holding off those until we can secure the services of the master wheel operator to assist us. We have begun the rear section on the left side and this is now well underway.
We have also continued work on the fuel tanks this month as we want to get the two tanks completed for installation in the wing in the bomb bay area. The first tank is mostly complete and we are completing fabrication of components for the second one.
The company fabricating the radiators and cabin heater along with the oil coolers for us have started the job and have fabricated a number of components required for the tank and outlets and are progressing well with the tooling required.
We should receive the first engine next month.
