Here is the Nov/Dec 2008 report on our work on the Mosquito.

 1. Work has dropped off quite a bit on this job as we concentrate on the Rapide while the weather is good for fabricing.  We have continued with the firewall fabrication and have made the stainless plates and alloy backing plates for the firewalls in the area of the main spar.  The design is of sandwich construction and we have cut out the fireproof blankets for insertion between to two metal sheets.  In addition to the main plating we have fabricated the upper cowl support channel, which attaches to the top of the firewall and supports the rear of the top cowl.

 2. We have completed the fabrication and assembly of the firewall end ribs which blank off the leading edges in the engine bay area.

 3. The flaps are sealed to the wing when fully retracted by a P shape seal and we have fabricated the attachment strips fitted these seals to the wings .

 4. We have also begun the rebuild of the aluminium leading edge section that forms the top section of the wing in the area of the radiators.  The original units have suffered an amount of handling damage and require patches to the skins and new spars fabricating.
