Here is the June 2008 report on our work on the Mosquito.

1. We have concentrated and preparing the wing for installation in the fuselage this month. We have removed the wing radiator support steel attach fittings from the front spar of the original wing refurbished them and had them plated ready to install. New hardware has been sourced to attach them and new micarta packers made. The landing gear up lock plate special hardware has also been removed from the original wing and sent away for plating. Two new attach studs have been fabricated. We have fitted the rear wing spar/fuselage attachments to the rear spar. We have continued with the ½ “ copper bonding strip on the front spar up over the centre section. We have installed the U/C retract ram support tubes to the rear of the wheel wells with slave hardware and fabricated the tapered shims required. We have refurbished and fabricated new a complete set of fuel tank straps.

2. Work continues on the left aileron. The bulk of the assembly has been completed and we will be starting the tab any day now.

3. We have decided to fit the wing to the fuselage, so now the two are as one and will stay that way permanently. It all fitted well and looks fabulous.
