Here is the August. 2008 report on our work on the Mosquito.

1. Work has progressed on components installation since the assembly. We have determined the location of the engine control torque shaft brackets and guides along the front spar and trial fitted those shafts using the original mounts and guides. These shafts will probably need replacing and new brackets made due to corrosion. We removed the ignition leads from the old wing and re-plotted the lead clamp positions on the new wing front spar. Numerous other small parts have been removed from the old wing and relocated on the new.

2. We have begun piecing together the wing radiator support structure. We have assembled the rib set up to the front spar with the eye bolt attachments and determined the location of the engine end rib.

3. We have begun the initial check fit and sort out of the throttle and pitch control rods from the throttle box back to the torque shaft bracket on the wing spar..

4. We have continued the overhaul of the engine bearers and associated componentry with the feather pump bracket, oil tank and cowl support hoop as well as the vent and drain collector box. We have also done some work on the landing light assemblies.

5. We have carried out most of the assembly and set up of the aileron and flap hinge mounts, fitted the aileron pulley mount brackets on the rear spar. We have also fabricated the hinge fairing plates and associated spacers for the flap hinge attachment. We have overhauled and fitted bearings to all the flap and aileron hinge brackets.
